OBJECTIVE OF WEREWOLF TAG: The werewolf and the hunter race to tag everybody in the game until everyone is either a werewolf or healed.

OVERVIEW OF WEREWOLF TAG

Werewolf tag is a mix between tag and hide-and-seek, played in the dark. With this game, the more players the better. Anyone can play werewolf tag, but make sure no one is scared of the dark!

SETUP

There are three types of players in a game of werewolf tag:

12. Hunter
13. Villager To begin with, there is only 1 werewolf and 1 hunter, and the rest of the players are villagers. Write down the roles on slips of paper and allow each player to pick a slip at random. The werewolf then reveals their identity by counting down from 20, allowing everyone adequate time to hide in the dark.

GAMEPLAY

The werewolf goes around the designated playing area, trying to infect as many villagers as they can by tagging them. When a villager is tagged, they become a werewolf too.

The hunter’s goal is to go around the designated playing area to un-tag any werewolves. Beware that the hunter can also be tagged as a werewolf as well!

VARIATIONS

There is a variation of werewolf tag where the werewolf’s identity is hidden at the beginning of the game. Instead of counting out loud to reveal their identity, the werewolf pretends to hide like everyone else and begins to tag other players once the 20 seconds are up.

Another variation that can be a fun addition is to add glowsticks to the mix. Every player must have a glowstick, which makes it harder for villagers, werewolves, and hunters to hide in the dark.

END OF GAME

Werewolf tag ends when there are either no more villagers/hunters or no more werewolves left in the game.
